Alix Raspe has been a student of harp since age 8. In 2007, she received the Annapolis Music Festival Maestro Award as an outstanding soloist. She premiered a piece commissioned for her and the Central Middle School orchestra entitled “Fidele” and “Esperance” by Catherine McMichael in Spring 2007. She attended Interlochen Arts Camp (Summers 2006 and 2007). This past summer, Alix attended Bowdoin International Music Festival (Summer 2008). During her middle school years, Alix was a harpist in the Stamford Young Artists orchestra. Currently, she performs in the Principal orchestra of the Norwalk Youth Symphony. In addition to her solo performances, Alix was also an extra in major motion picture, “Reservation Road” -- released Fall 2007. In 2007, Alix had had the distinct privilege of performing with Music for the Planet at its Winter Solstice Concert, and will be joining them again for the 2008 Winter Solstice Concert. |
